3. DESCRIPTION
A. Nose wheel
The nose wheel has been designed and manufactured to be used with a tube tire. The nose wheel consists of :
- two half-wheels,
- two bearing cones,
- two bearing cups,
- two sealing rings,
- two retaining rings. The two half-wheels are fastened together by means of bolts, washers and self-locking nuts. On the outboard half-wheel, a hole is provided for the valve.
The bearings are protected against dust, moisture and loss of lubricant by means of a sealing ring installed on the outboard side of each half-wheel.
The nose wheel tire is of tube type.
B. Main wheels
The main wheels have been designed and manufactured to be used with tube tires. Each main wheel consists of :
- two half-wheels,
- two bearing cones,
- two bearing cups,
- two sealing rings,
- two retaining rings,
- a brake disk.
The two half-wheels are fastened together by means of bolts, washers and self-locking nuts. On the outboard half-wheel, a hole is provided for the valve.
The inboard half-wheel includes a brake disk.
The bearings are protected against dust, moisture and loss of lubricant by means of a sealing ring installed on the outboard side of each half-wheel.
The main wheel tires are of tube type.
C. Brake unit
The hydraulic brakes have been designed for use with hydraulic fluid (TB 02-001) and for L.H. and R.N. wheel interchangeability. A disk brake is fitted on each main gear wheel.
The brake assembly consists of :
- a cylinder containing two pistons,
- an inlet port,
- a bleeder.
 
The hydraulic pressure from brake master cylinders actuates the pistons which transmit the motion to the two brake lining support plates.
Slowing-down is obtained by friction of linings onto the disk. The higher the hydraulic pressure provided by the brake master cylinders, the stronger the friction onto the disk and the more efficient the slowing-down is.
D. Parking brake The parking brake is designed to hold pressure on brakes when the aircraft is parked.
The parking brake control consists of a knob actuating the parking brake valve. This valve consists of an anodized aluminium body, a camshaft, two valves and two valve rods. The knob also actuates the microswitch of the red warning light located on alarm panel. This knob is located on L.H. instrument panel strip below the control wheel centerline.
