1) Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open. 2) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation. WARNING DO NOT OPERATE MAINTENANCE WORK IN PROGRESS 3) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 4) Make hydraulic pressure drop in the system by pulling landing gear emergency control. 5) Unfold tabs of nut retainer (3), hold ball joint (4) and loosen jam nut (2). 6) Remove and discard nut (8) and remove washer (7) and screw (6). 7) Remove ball joint (4), nut retainer (3) and jam nut (2). Discard nut retainer (3). 8) Degrease jam nut (2), threads of ball joint (4) and of cylinder rod (1) with cleaning agent (TB 11-003). 9) Screw jam nut (2) on cylinder rod (1) until min. gap of 0.12 in (3 mm) is obtained between the rear face of jam nut (2) and the smooth part of cylinder rod (1) - refer to Figure 202. 10) Install a new nut retainer (3). 11) Put a drop of loctite (TB 08-931) to the threads of cylinder rod (1). 12) Screw ball joint (4) until it is in contact with jam nut (2) and install screw (6). 13) Torque jam nut (2) - refer to 20-00-01. 14) Fold tabs of nut retainer (3). 15) Mark ball joint (4), jam nut (2) and the smooth part of the cylinder rod with a red paint line. 16) Install washer (7) and new nut (8). 17) Push back the landing gear emergency control. 18) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 19) Check landing gear control linkage and indicating system - refer to 32-30-00. 20) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 21) Install the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 22) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation. 7 ty S / N 1 - 9999 AA Validity 32-30-02Page 208 (BA) JUN 02 MAIN LANDING GEAR HINGED STRUT MAINTENANCE PRACTICES 1. Manual unlocking of the hinged strut 1) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00. 2) Disengage the landing gear switch-breaker. 3) Insert a big screwdriver between the 2 bolts according to Figure 201. Push the screwdriver towards the wheel (following arrow F1), when the hook (1) is released, push with the foot on lower half-strut (following arrow F2) and simultaneously pull on wheel. NOTE : In order to provide a better contact between the screwdriver and upper bolt, place flat face of the screwdriver against flat face of the screw or upper nut.
