REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - MAIN LANDING GEAR ACTUATING CYLINDER (Figure 201) A. Tools and consumable materials - Torque wrench 0 - 250 Ibf.in (0 - 30 N.m) I - Grease (TB 04-004A) - Red paint - Drip pan - Hydraulic fluid (TB 02-001) - Blanking plugs B. Removal of the main landing gear actuating cylinder 1) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00. 2) Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open. 3) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation. WARNING DO NOT OPERATE MAINTENANCE WORK IN PROGRESS 4) Make hydraulic pressure drop in the system by pulling landing gear emergency control. 5) Remove the cowling under hull 218. 6) Install a drip pan beneath cylinder. 7) Disconnect hoses (6) and (13) on fuselage side and blank off. 8) Remove nut (4), washer (3) and bolt (2). Discard nut (4). 9) Hold cylinder and remove nut (10), washer (11) and bolt (8) and discard nut (10). 10) Install cylinder on a work bench. 11) If required, disconnect hoses (6) and (13). Discard 0-rings (7) and (12). Blank off. 12) If required, service actuating cylinder - refer to C.M.M. (Component Maintenance Manual), Actuating cylinder, P/N TB20 47007. Installation of the main landing gear actuating cylinder 1) Make sure, before installation, that the different parts have no wear or abnormal grooves, no friction, corrosion and buckling of the cylinder rod. Check hoses for condition. Replace if necessary. 2) Check actuating cylinder (5) length and min. gap of 0.12 in (3 mm) - refer to Figure 202, adjust if necessary - refer to Paragraph 3. 3) Lubricate hinges with grease (TB 04-004A). 4) If disconnected, connect hoses (6) and (13) equipped with new 0-rings (7) and (12) to the actuating cylinder - refer to 20-00-02.
