- Loctite (TB 08-931)
- Red paint
B. Method of "Si" outlet direction adjustment with actuating cylinder installed
1) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00.
2) Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open.
3) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.

4) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
5) Unlock jam nut (5) with wrench OU 4474A.
6) Direct "S1" outlet so as to get the necessary angle - refer to Detail A.
7) Lock jam nut (5) with wrench OU 4474A and torque jam nut (5) - refer to 20-00-01.
8) Disengage the landing gear electrohydraulic generator circuit-breaker.
9) Pull the landing gear emergency control.
10) Unlock the hinged strut manually - refer to 32-30-04.
11) Actuate the landing gear manually. Check the pipes for stress and friction.
12) Lock the landing gear in down position manually.
13) Push back the landing gear emergency control.
14) Check landing gear control linkage and indicating system - refer to 32-30-00.
15) Check for leaks at the actuating cylinder level.
16) Mark jam nut (5) and the actuating cylinder body with a red paint line.
17) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
18) Install the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
19) Lower the aircraft to ground and remove the jacks - refer to 07-10-00.
20) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.

C. Adjustment of cylinder rod on work bench
1) Remove actuating cylinder - refer to Paragraph 2.
2) Unfold tabs of nut retainer (3), hold ball joint (4) and loosen jam nut (2).
3) Remove ball joint (4), nut retainer (3) and jam nut (2). Discard nut retainer (3).
4) Degrease jam nut (2) and threads of ball joint (4) and cylinder rod (1) with cleaning agent (TB 11-003).
5) Screw jam nut (2) on cylinder rod (1) until min. gap of 0.12 in (3 mm) is obtained between the rear face of
jam nut (2) and the smooth part of cylinder rod (1) - refer to Figure 202.
6) Install a new nut retainer (3).
7) Put a drop of loctite (TB 08-931) to the threads of cylinder rod (1).
8) Screw ball joint (4) until it is in contact with jam nut (2).
9) Torque jam nut (2) - refer to 20-00-01.
10) Fold tabs of nut retainer (3).
11) Mark ball joint (4), jam nut (2) and the smooth part of the cylinder rod with a red paint line.
12) Install actuating cylinder - refer to Paragraph 2.
D. Adjustment of cylinder rod on the aircraft
