10) Remove 0-ring (35) from bearing (37). Discard 0-ring (35). 11) Remove retaining ring (32) to release plug (34) from sliding cylinder (42). NOTE : To remove retaining ring from ring stop hole, just hold sliding cylinder (42) and rotate plug (34) clockwise. 12) Separate bearing (37) from sliding cylinder (42). 13) Remove 0-ring (33) from plug (34). Discard 0-ring (33). 14) Remove 0-ring (39) and anti-extrusion rings (38) from bearing (37). Discard 0-ring (39). 15) Remove scraper ring (40) from bearing (37). CAUTION : AVOID ANY CONTACT OF THE RUBBER SEALS WITH CLEANING AGENT (TB 11-003) OR (TB 11-913). 16) Thoroughly clean all the disassembled parts with cleaning agent (TB 11-003). Remove any residual traces of protection product (TB 05-917) or MOLYKOTE 321 R from bearing (37) and landing gear leg (23). E. Assembly of landing gear leg (Figures 402 and 403) 1) Inspect all the parts for : - wear, - abnormal scratches, - friction marks, - corrosion : if corrosion is noted on bearing (37) and within landing gear leg (23) inner diameter, maximum allowable depth of corrosion pittings should be 0.008 in (2/10 mm). remove corrosion pittings with a rotary wire brush and brush slightly according to crossed to-and-fro movements without rounding off. If corrosion pittings are deep, use abrasive cloth (TB 05-916E) as a maximum. avoid brushing the upper bearing area of 0-ring (35). degrease the reworked sections with cleaning agent (TB 11-913). 2) Inspect grease nipples of hinged body (36) and scissors (44) for condition and blockage. 3) Lubricate new 0-ring (39) and anti-extrusion rings (38) with hydraulic fluid (TB 02-001) and position them inside bearing (37). 4) Place scraper ring (40) into bearing (37). 5) Coat circlip (41) with protection product (TB 05-917). 6) Slip circlip (41) onto sliding cylinder (42). 7) Clean sliding cylinder (42) to remove excess protection product (TB 05-917) left by circlip (41). 8) Lubricate the chromium-plated section of sliding cylinder (42) with hydraulic fluid (TB 02-001). 9) Position bearing (37) on sliding cylinder (42). Do not rotate. 10) Lubricate new 0-rings (33) and (35) with lubricant (TB 04-903). 11) Fit 0-ring (35) onto bearing (37). 12) Position 0-ring (33) on plug (34). 13) Install plug (34) on sliding cylinder (42), position retaining ring (32) and lock by rotating ring clockwise. 14) Degrease landing gear leg (23), valve (26) and restrictor (45) with cleaning agent (TB 11-913). 15) Lubricate new 0-ring (27) with hydraulic fluid (TB 02-001). 16) Fit restrictor (45) with valve (26), circlip (25) and 0-ring (27). 17) Insert and secure restrictor (45) assembly into landing gear leg (23) with seal washers (29) and bolts (28).
