B. Removal of nose landing gear (Figure 401) 1) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 2) Disconnect the battery - refer to 24-30-02. 3) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00. 4) Disconnect the microswitch connectors on the landing gear mount. Then remove wiring attachments from the landing gear mount. 5) Disconnect compensating actuators (3) from landing gear leg. Retain washers (1). Discard cotter pins (2). 6) Uncouple hinged strut (8) at the leg end. Retain bolt (9), washer (10) and nut (11). Discard cotter pin (12). 7) Hold the landing gear, remove and discard cotter pins (7). Retain nuts (6), washers (5) and bolts (4) equipped with their spacer. 8) Remove nose gear and place it on work bench. 1 - Washer 2 - Cotter pin 3 - Compensating actuator 4 - Bolt 5 - Washer 6 - Nut 7 - Cotter pin 8 - Hinged strut 9 - Bolt 10 - Washer 11 - Nut 12 - Cotter pin 13 - Landing gear mount Nose landing gear - Removal / Installation Figure 401 C. Installation of nose landing gear (Figures 401 and 402) 1) Position the nose landing gear on the mount. 2) Attach the landing gear to the mount with bolts (4) equipped with their spacer, washers (5) and nuts (6). 3) Torque nuts (6) - refer to 20-00-01 4) Safety with a new cotter pin (7). 5) Couple hinged strut (8) with bolt (9), washer (10) and nut (11). 6) Torque nut (11) - refer to 20-00-01. 7) Safety with a new cotter pin (12). 8) Connect compensating actuators (3) to landing gear leg with washers (1) and new cotter pins (2). 9) Connect microswitch connectors and attach the wiring to the landing gear mount. CAUTION : THE PNEUMATIC LUBRICATING GUN IS FORBIDDEN FOR THE LUBRICATION OF THE LANDING GEAR HINGED BODY (36). USE A HAND PUMP AND MAKE SURE THAT THE OLD LUBRICANT FLOWS DURING THE LUBRICATION. 10) Do a complete lubrication of the landing gear leg - refer to 12-21-05. 11) Connect the battery - refer to 24-30-02. WARNING : BEFORE ANY LANDING GEAR RETRACTION OR "NORMAL" OR "EMERGENCY" EXTENSION PROCEDURE, AND / OR LANDING GEAR CIRCUIT-BREAKER CLOSING, MAKE SURE THAT THE LANDING GEAR IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS ARE CLEAR (PERSONS OR THINGS). 12) Check control linkage and indicating system - refer to 32-30-00. 13) Lower the aircraft to ground and remove the jacks - refer to 07-10-00. 14) Install the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. D. Disassembly of landing gear leg (Figures 402 and 403) 1) Remove the nose landing gear - refer to Paragraph 1.B. 2) Drain the shock-absorber - refer to 32-20-00, Page 301. 3) Remove upper scissors (44) attachments on landing gear leg (23).
