NOSE LANDING GEAR MOUNT
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. REMOVAL OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR MOUNT (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
None
B. Procedure
1) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
2) Jack up the aircraft - refer to 07-10-00.
3) Remove nose landing gear - refer to 32-20-00.
4) Remove nose landing gear hinged strut - refer to 32-30-04.
5) Cut off and discard all the tie-wraps that attach sheaths, hoses, controls and wiring to the landing gear mount.
6) If vapor cycle cooling system (option) is installed, remove the securing clamps (if installed) of HP and LP hoses.
TB21 aircraft
7) Remove the hose that connects the exhaust pipe exchanger to the cabin air mixer attached to the firewall.
All
8) Disconnect propeller governor control - refer to 61-20-01.
9) Disconnect mixture control - refer to 76-10-03.
10) Disconnect the connectors of up landing gear microswitches and hinged strut.
11) Remove and discard nuts (18), remove bolts (1) and (16), washers (2) and (17) and struts (3) and (19).
12) Remove and discard cotter pins (15), remove nuts (14), washers (12) and bolts (11).
13) Hold landing gear mount (7), remove bolts (20) and washers (21) and install the mount on a bench.
14) If necessary, remove and discard cotter pin (4), remove nut (5), washer (6) and connecting lever (10).
15) If installed, remove microswitch disconnect plug support.
2. INSTALLATION OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR MOUNT (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Grease (TB 04-004A)
- Red paint
- Loctite (TB 08-925)
- Tie-wraps
- Torque wrench 0 - 177 lbf.in (0 - 20 N.m)
- Adhesive tape (TB 08-917) or protection tape (TB 05-938)
