MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
SERVICING None
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - GPS ANTENNA (Figures 201 and 201A)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Sealant (TB 09-903)
- Plastic scraper
- Cleaning agent (TB 11-912)
- Clean lintfree cloths
B. Removal of GPS antenna
Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open.
Remove the sealant ensuring tightness around screws (4).
Using a plastic scraper, remove the sealant bead applied around the antenna.
Remove screws (4).
Sufficiently clear GPS antenna (1) to reach connector (2). NOTE : Keep the antenna cable outside the fuselage when the antenna is removed.
Disconnect connector (2).
Remove GPS antenna (1) and gasket (3).
Remove any sealant residues on the fuselage.
Remove any sealant residues from inside the holes of screws (4).
C. Installation of GPS antenna
Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open.
Clean the aircraft skin in contact with GPS antenna (1) base with a clean lintfree cloth moistened with
cleaning agent (TB 11-912). Wipe with a dry cloth.
Position gasket (3) on GPS antenna (1).
Connect connector (2).
Position and secure GPS antenna (1) equipped with the gasket with screws (4). 111 6) Seal the four passage holes of screws (4) with sealant (TB 09-903).
Apply a bead of sealant (TB 09-903) around the antenna / fuselage junction.
Perform an operational test of the GPS system.
