the "NRST" pushbutton (11) is used to bring up a menu of the nearest functions (Airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections,...) that may be selected.
- the "PUSH-ON" button (15) is used to energize the system and adjust the display brightness.
- the connection jack (2) enables to update the navigation database from a laptop computer. The A78 GPS receiver is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar via CB 194 "GPS" or "GPS1" circuit breaker. The A78 GPS receiver is mounted in the PL30 radio rack.
E48 GPS antenna
The E48 GPS antenna ensures the reception of the signals. It operates within the D band at the frequency of 1575.42 MHz.
It is a flat and small size antenna secured by means of four nuts.
The antenna is mounted on top of the fuselage between C3 and C4 frames.
A92, A93 relay boxes (option)
The A92, A93 relay boxes enable, by commutation, the NAV or GPS information to be displayed on the M73 Horizontal Situation Indicator.
Relay boxes are electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar via the "NAV GPS" or "NAV1 GPS1" annunciator/switch of the advisory panel and protected by CB 194 "GPS" or "GPS1" circuit breaker.
Relay boxes are mounted on the front panel. S/N 2207-9999
Configuration module
The configuration module enables to store the configuration data defined during the installation of the system on the aircraft. Data of configuration module are automatically used if the data contained in the internal memory of A78 GPS receiver are different from the module's data.
The configuration module is secured to the rear plate of GPS-receiver attachment rack. 4. OPERATION
The "RADIO MASTER" switch controls the energization of the whole radionavigation system.
At energization, the system automatically performs an internal test and displays a test page showing a course deviation indicator and other data. With the concentric knobs and the "ENT" pushbutton, fill in and/ or confirm successively the different displayed pages.
Interfaced-with-HSI version
The "NAV GPS" or "NAV1 GPS1" annunciator/switch of the advisory panel enables to select NAV or GPS information displayed on the M73 horizontal situation indicator. The indicator lights paired with the annunciator/switch identify the type of information displayed by the indicator. The GPS receiver converts GPS navigation information into DC signals, to actuate the vertical pointer, the "TO/FR" indicator and the warning flag of the indicator. If installed, the autopilot also receives the navigation information.
