- the "OBS" button used to adjust the desired radial under the lubber line by moving the compass card,
- the horizontal pointer showing the Glide Slope course position relative to aircraft position,
- the vertical pointer showing the VOR or GPS course deviation or LOC course position relative to aircraft position,
- the "TO/FR" flag showing "TO" if the aircraft flies towards the selected ground station or towards the selected waypoint or "FR" when the aircraft flies in the opposite direction from the ground station or from the selected waypoint.

- the VOR/LOC/GPS warning flag which appears to show that the received signals cannot be used.
- the Glide Slope warning flag which appears to show that the received signals cannot be used.
- two indicator lights to identify the origin of information displayed by the indicator.
It is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar and protected by CB 194 "NAV GPS 2" circuit breaker. The indicator is mounted on the L.H. instrument panel.
4. OPERATION (Figure 4)
The "RADIO MASTER" switch controls the energization of the whole radionavigation system.
The "CDI" pushbutton on the front panel of the COMM./VOR-ILS/ GPS transceiver enables the selected VOR/ILS or GPS navigation source to be directed towards the course deviation indicator. A "VLOC" or "GPS" message appears on the display above the "CDI" pushbutton to confirm the selection. The same message appears on the front face of the indicator.
A. VOR mode
The COMM./VOR-ILS/GPS transceiver is tuned to the frequency displayed in the VOR/LOC window of the display. The VOR signal is received by the antenna and transmitted to the COMM.NOR-ILS/GPS transceiver via A59 VOR signal separator (if installed). The COMM.NOR-ILS/GPS transceiver converts the VOR signals into DC signals to control the vertical pointer, the "TO-FR" indicator and the related warning flag. The transceiver processes the audio identification signal from the VOR ground station and sends it to A50 audio control panel.
