5) At frame C4, disconnect the elevator and rudder interconnection rods. Retain bolts, washers and nuts. Discard the cotter pins. NOTE : Disconnecting the interconnection rods is not mandatory, it makes access to the antenna easier. 6) On frame C4, through the interconnection rods holes, disconnect connector (1). 7) Remove nuts (2) and washers (3). Discard the nuts. Antenna installed with conductive sealant I 8) Carefully unstick and remove antenna (6). 9) Using the plastic scraper, remove any sealant residues on the fuselage and the antenna. Installation of E37 DME antenna 1) If the skin area in contact with the antenna base is not a non-painted alodine-coated surface, perform the following operations a) Position the antenna on the skin and draw its contour using a soft lead pencil. b) Using adhesive tape, delimit the skin area around the antenna base. c) Using abrasive cloth (TB 05-916C), bare the skin area in contact with the antenna base. d) Clean the bared area with a clean lintfree cloth moistened with cleaning agent (TB 11-912). Wipe with a dry cloth. e) Coat the bared area with Alodine (TB 13-002). f) Remove the adhesive tape. 2) Clean the skin area in contact with the antenna base with a clean lintfree cloth moistened with cleaning agent (TB 11-912). Wipe with a dry cloth. 3) Ensure bonding of areas (8) in contact with washers (3) - refer to 20-00-12. 4) Secure the antenna with new nuts (2) and washers (3). 5) Using a clean lintfree cloth moistened with cleaning agent (TB 11-912), clean the alodine-coated areas still visible. Wipe with a dry cloth. 6) Apply varnish (TB 07-906) on the attachment hardware and the alodine-coated areas still visible. Antenna installed with counterplate (4) 7) Apply a bead of sealant (5) (TB 08-004B) around antenna connector. All 8) Connect connector (1). 9) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 10) If disconnected, reconnect the elevator and rudder interconnection rods with the bolts, washers and nuts. Lock with new cotter pins. 11) Make sure the DME antenna cable does not interfere with the interconnection rods. 12) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 13) Install under-hull cowlings 218 or 218F and 218A. 14) Remove the warning sign prohibiting control wheel operation. 15) Apply a bead of sealant (TB 09-903) around the antenna.
