DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL (Figure 1)
The Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) is a direction-finding system which enables the direction of a radioelectric transmission to be determined.
The optional ADF installation gives azimuth indications which enable a position to be pointed and the alignments to be carried out. The ADF installation requires two ADF systems.
The ADF installation consists of :
- the A55 ADF receiver,
- the A58 ADF receiver,
- the M77 ADF indicator,
- the E35 ADF antenna,
- the E15 ADF antenna,
- the S203 "AUDIO SELECT ADF1/ADF2" switch.
M77 ADF indicator is designed to operate with the installation but it can be replaced by the optional KNI 582 RMI - refer to 34-25-00.
The two ADF systems send an audio signal to the audio control box through S203 switch - refer to 23-11-00. The ADF 1 system is electrically supplied by "BUS 2" bar.
The ADF 2 system is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar.
NOTE : For RUSSIAN and UKRAINIAN aircraft, ADF 1 system is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" bar.
