10) Secure inspection door (3) with screws (6) and washers (7).
11) Carefully clean excess petrolatum with a clean cloth slightly moistened with cleaning agent (TB 11-912). Wipe with a dry cloth.
12) Protect the heads of screws (6) and the alodine-coated areas still visible with a coat of varnish (TB 07-907).
13) Apply a bead of sealant (TB 09-903) around the antenna. Smooth-finish the bead.
14) Perform a functional test of the system.

AUTOMATIC DIRECTION FINDER (ADF)
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL (Figures 1, 1A and 1B)
The Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) is a direction-finding device which allows to determine the direction of a radioelectric transmission.
The optional ADF installation gives azimuth indications which allow to point a position and to do alignments. The ADF installation consists of :
- an A55 ADF receiver,
- an E35 ADF antenna.
The ADF installation sends ADF data to the radio magnetic indication system - refer to 34-25-00. The ADF installation sends an audio signal to the optional A50 audio control box - refer to 23-11-00. The system is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" or "BUS 2" or "BUS 3" bars.
