3. DESCRIPTION
A. A51 VHF NAV/COMM. transceiver (Figure 4)
The VHF NAV/COMM. transceiver is designed for the reception of navigation and guidance signals within a frequency range from 108.00 to 117.95 MHz and as an option for the reception of Glide Slope signals within a frequency range from 329.15 to 335.00 MHz. It provides the indicator(s) with NAV/LOC or NAV/ILS information.

All the controls, necessary for equipment operation in navigation mode as well as display, are located on the R.H. section of front panel. It includes :
- the NAV digital display (1) subdivided in two windows. The left window always displays the active frequency and the right "STBY" window displays the standby frequency or, according to the selected mode, navigation information,
- two concentric knobs used to select the active frequency, the standby frequency or data entry according to the selected mode,
- the "<-->" pushbutton for NAV frequency transfer, which enables the frequency displayed in the active frequency window to flip-flop with the frequency displayed in the"STBY" window and vice-versa. When pushed in more than two seconds, it also enables the active frequency to be directly controlled via the concentric knobs (if you press momentarily the pushbutton, the active and standby frequency display mode is reactivated),
- the "MODE" pushbutton used to select the CDI, the BEARING or RADIAL mode,
