DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The markers are ground beacons which transmit a narrow vertical beam. They are generally associated to the Instrument Landing System (ILS). The three markers provide the threshold distance. The marker beacon receiver informs the pilot by means of visual and audio signals that the aircraft is flying over a beacon.
The system consists of :
- a marker receiver incorporated into A50 audio control panel,
- E38 marker antenna.
The marker receiver sends data to :
- A82 flight computer of the autopilot system (option) - refer to 22-12-00, The marker system is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" bar.

3. DESCRIPTION A. A50 audio control panel (Figure 2)
The marker receiver receives the signal detected by the antenna when the aircraft is flying over a ground beacon. Once the receiver has processed the signal, it provides a visual information and the associated audio signal.
It is incorporated into A50 audio control panel.
The rear face of A50 audio control panel features an electrical connector onto which the antenna cable is also connected.
The front face features :
- a three-position mode selector (1) :
"High" (High sensitivity) position : the gain of the receiver input stage is increased thus enabling weaker signals to be received,
