3. DESCRIPTION
A. M90 Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI)
The Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator is a cathode ray color tube indicator (red, blue, green). It displays heading and navigation information provided by the aircraft different systems.
The Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator consists of a rectangular box housing the electronic processing boards. The rear face features an electrical connector and a built-in fan for the indicator cooling. The front face features a color display and control buttons/knobs.
The Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator is electrically supplied by the symbol generator. It is mounted into a rack on L.H. instrument panel.
B. A104 symbol generator
The symbol generator centralizes navigation and guidance information provided by the different systems installed on the aircraft.
This information is then processed and transformed into deflection drive signals and color video signals for display on the cathode ray tube of the EHSI.
The symbol generator provides the autopilot with the heading, course or navigation information selected on the EHSI.
