MARKER
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The markers are ground beacons which transmit a narrow vertical beam. They are generally associated to the ILS (Instrument Landing System) and are three. They provide the threshold distance. The marker receiver indicates to the pilot, by an appropriate luminous and sound signal, that the aircraft flies over a beacon.
The optional marker system consists of :
- an MKR receiver / indicator integrated into A50 audio control box - refer to 23-11-00,
- an E38 MKR antenna,
- a notch filter tee (if installed).
The MKR receiver / indicator transmits "OUTER MKR" and "MIDDLE MKR" information to the optional autopilot - refer to 22-12-00.
The MKR receiver / indicator is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar via the "AUDIO" circuit breaker.
