3. DESCRIPTION
A. True airspeed indicator
The true airspeed indicator indicates the relative speed of the aircraft compared with the air. The true airspeed indicator includes in its forward face :
a knob located in the R.H. lower corner which allows adjusting the barometric correction,
- a window located in the dial upper part which visualizes an altitude / temperature correction scale,
- a window located in the dial L.H. lower quarter which includes a movable reading scale, moving according to the displayed barometric correction.
The true airspeed indicator measures the difference between the dynamic pressure and the static pressure and sets this difference out as a relative speed. The adjustment knob performs the barometric correction within a determined speed range.
B. Vertical speed indicator
The vertical speed indicator indicates the climb or descent vertical speed.
It has a dial gauge graduated from 0 to ± 2000 ft / min. On the forward face, in the L.H. lower corner, a screw allows adjusting the zero position of the needle.
The vertical speed indicator consists of a sealed box producing a capacity. This capacity communicates with the static pressure through a calibrated hole. The vertical speed indicator measures the pressure difference between the static pressure and the pressure in the capacity.
