- a "HDG" flag which indicates the reliability of the heading system. The flag comes into view if the heading system fails to provide correct heading information.
- a fixed lubber line which indicates aircraft magnetic heading on the compass card.
The radio magnetic indicator is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar and protected by "RMI" fuse of PL3 fuse panel.
The radio magnetic indicator is located on L.H. instrument panel. 4. OPERATION
The radio magnetic indicator receives a standard ARINC 3-wire synchro X, Y, Z heading information from M73 horizontal situation indicator (HSI) of heading system. The aircraft magnetic heading is read on the compass card in front of the fixed lubber line.
On the radio magnetic indicator, when ADFNOR or ADF/NAV mode pushbuttons are pushed in :
- the single and the double bar pointers indicate the magnetic heading to the ADF station selected on A55 ADF receiver.
Single and double bar pointers are parked at 90° to the right of the fixed lubber line when the "ANT" mode is set on ADF receiver.
When ADF/VOR or ADF/NAV mode pushbuttons are released :
- the single bar pointer indicates the magnetic heading of the selected VOR station on the NAV receiver of the NAV 1 installation,
- the double bar pointer indicates the magnetic heading of the selected VOR station on the NAV receiver of the NAV 2 installation.
