RADIO MAGNETIC INDICATION
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL (Figure 1)
The radio magnetic indication system provides by means of one indicator, magnetic heading of the aircraft and bearing information to VOR and ADF stations.
The optional radio magnetic indication system consists of a M75 radio magnetic indicator (RMI).
The single pointer of the RMI can be switched between NAV 1 / NAV 2 installations by means of an optional S6 external switch.
The RMI receives :
- magnetic heading information from the heading reference system - refer to 34-21-00,
- navigation data from NAV 1 installation - refer to 34-51-00,
- ADF bearing information from Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) system - refer to 34-54-00,
- navigation data from NAV 2 installation (with optional S6 external switch only) - refer to 34-52-00. The system is electrically supplied by "BUS 3 " bar and protected by "RMI" fuse.

3. DESCRIPTION A. M75 radio magnetic indicator (Figure 3)
Radio Magnetic Indicator provides bearing information to VOR and ADF stations by means of two pointers. The RMI also presents the aircraft magnetic heading.
The RMI is housed into a rectangular box with all electrical connections made through a rear connector. The equipment front panel consists of :
- a compass card rotating under a fixed lubber line,
- a single bar pointer which indicates bearing information to a VOR station,
- a double bar pointer which indicates bearing information to an ADF station,
- a fixed lubber line which indicates aircraft magnetic heading on the compass card.
The RMI is electrically supplied by "BUS 3" bar and protected by "RMI" fuse of PL3 fuse panel. The fuse panel is located on the firewall, on the L.H. side, on cabin side.
The RMI is located on L.H. instrument panel.
