3. DESCRIPTION
A. Electric horizon gyro (Figure 2)
The electric horizon gyro provides the pilot with a visual display of aircraft attitude. This instrument can also
show banking information when the aircraft is turning (instrument equipped with slip indicator). All connections to the equipment are made through a single 4-pin connector on the back panel. The front panel consists of :
- an aircraft symbol
- an adjustment knob which allows to move aircraft symbol (option),
- a "PULL TO CAGE" knob which allows to manually erect the rotor,
- a warning flag, which indicates rotor low speed or low input power,
- a slip indicator (depending on version).
The aircraft attitude is given by the horizon bar linked to the gyroscope and the adjustable aircraft symbol fixed on the case.
The angular value of the aircraft in roll attitude is indicated by the lubber line and the circular roll scale. The
angular value of the aircraft in pitch attitude is indicated by the aircraft symbol and the horizon bar pitch scale.

The front panel consists of :
- an aircraft symbol which can be moved using an adjustment knob,
- a "PULL TO CAGE" knob which allows to manually erect the rotor,
- a labelled "OFF" warning flag, which indicates rotor low speed or low input power.
The aircraft attitude is given by the horizon bar linked to the gyroscope and the adjustable aircraft symbol fixed on the case.
The angular value of the aircraft in roll attitude is indicated by the lubber line and the circular roll scale.
4. OPERATION
NOTE : For equipment operation and maintenance, refer to the supplier's Maintenance Manual. The electric horizon gyro energization is carried out by setting the "HORIZ" or "HORIZON" switch to ON. The warning flag disappears when the gyroscope rotor reaches its operating speed.
The gyroscope is manually erected by pulling the knob located in the front panel. The electric horizon is readyto correctly display the aircraft pitch and roll angles.
