A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER MAINTENANCE PRACTICES NOTE : The A65 emergency locator transmitter must only be operated for search and rescue purposes in case of aeronautical emergency. Failure to observe this rule will lead to sanctions imposed by the relevant authorities. Set emergency locator transmitter "ON-OFF-ARM" switch to "OFF" during handling. 1. SERVICING A. REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (Figures 201 and 201A) A. Tools and consumable materials None B. Removal of A65 emergency locator transmitter 1) Open access door 219. 2) Set emergency locator transmitter "ON-OFF-ARM" switch to "OFF". 3) Disconnect antenna connector (6). ELT "ARTEX" 200 4) If installed, disconnect and remove noise filter of emergency locator transmitter. All 4) Disconnect connector (5) ensuring connection to the aircraft wiring harness. 5) Unlock clamp (2) and remove A65 emergency locator transmitter (1). ELT "ARTEX" 200 6) If necessary, remove screws (3) and remove mounting tray (4). ELT "KANNAD" 121 AF 6) If necessary, remove bolts (3), washers (7) and mounting tray (4). C. Installation of A65 emergency locator transmitter CAUTION : THE ARROW ON A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER MUST BE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE AIRCRAFT FRONT SECTION.
