- the transmission red warning light, - the "ANT" coaxial connector for connection to the aircraft antenna or to the flexible antenna, - the connector for connection to the aircraft wiring harness. The emergency locator transmitter is secured to the baggage compartment floor, on the R.H. side. ADAD Validity : ELT 96 - 97 25-61-00 (EA) Page 1 SEP 04 B. E50 antenna The E50 antenna is secured to the rear upper section of the fuselage, ahead of the vertical stabilizer. C. S130 "ELT" remote control switch The S130 "ELT" remote control switch is secured to the upholstery panel of the L.H. instrument panel ; it can be set to "MANUAL", "AUTO" or "AUTOTEST RESET". D. "XMIT ALERT" warning light The "XMIT ALERT" warning light comes on when the A65 emergency locator transmitter is transmitting and flashes when a fault in the system is detected during the "AUTOTEST" sequence. It is located on the same upholstery panel as the S130 "ELT" remote control switch. The warning light is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" bar and protected by CB 82 "ELT" circuit breaker. E. A67 rejector (option) The A67 rejector reduces power induced in A65 emergency locator transmitter to prevent radiation from its input circuits and interferences with the aircraft's other equipment during VHF/COM transmission. It is operated by pilot and copilot push-to-talk buttons. The rejector is secured to baggage compartment rear bulkhead. 4. OPERATION The emergency locator transmitter is power-supplied by two disposable lithium battery packs. The emergency locator transmitter can be operated : - manually, either by setting the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch to "MAN/RESET" or by setting S130 "ELT" remote control switch to "MANUAL" (the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch being set to "AUTO"), - automatically, in the event of an impact, when both switches are set to "AUTO". Once triggered, the emergency locator transmitter transmits a modulated signal simultaneously on the three emergency frequencies (121.5 MHz, 243 MHz and 406 MHz). Set the S130 "ELT" remote control switch to "AUTOTEST RESET" to check the transmission power at 406 MHz and the condition of the battery packs. When the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch is set to "OFF", transmission can no longer take place. ADAD Validity : ELT 96 - 97 25-61-00 (EA) Page 2 SEP 04 |
