3. DESCRIPTION
A. A65 emergency locator transmitter
The A65 emergency locator transmitter consists of a transmitter and a battery assembled by screws. A
flexible antenna is located around this assy to enable the use of the emergency locator transmitter outside
the aircraft.
JE 2 ELT
The front face includes :
- the "MANU-OFF-AUTO" switch,
- the "RESET" button,
- the coaxial connector for connection to the aircraft antenna,
- the remote control connecting contacts.
JE 2-NG ELT
The front face includes :
- the "MANU-OFF/RST-AUTO" switch,
- the coaxial connector for connection to the aircraft antenna,
- the remote control connecting contacts.

The emergency locator transmitter is secured to the baggage compartment floor, on the R.H. side.

1 B. E50 antenna
The antenna is secured to the rear upper section of the fuselage, ahead of the vertical stabilizer. C. S130 "ELT" remote control switch
The S130 "ELT" remote control switch is secured to the upholstery panel of the L.H. instrument panel and can either be set to "MANUAL" or to "AUTO".
4. OPERATION
The emergency locator transmitter is power-supplied by a battery secured to the transmitter. The emergency locator transmitter can be operated :
manually, either by setting the "MANU-OFF-AUTO" or "MANU-OFF/RST-AUTO" transmitter switch to "MANU" or by setting the S130 "ELT" remote control switch to "ON" (the "MANU-OFF-AUTO" or "MANU-OFF/RST-AUTO" transmitter switch being set to "AUTO" or "RST-AUTO"),
- automatically, in the event of an impact, when both switches are set to "AUTO".
Once triggered, the emergency locator transmitter transmits a modulated signal simultaneously on both emergency frequencies (121.5 MHz and 243 MHz).
When the "MANU-OFF-AUTO" or "MANU-OFF/RST-AUTO" transmitter switch is set to "OFF", transmission can no longer take place.
