2. REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (Figure 201) A. Tools and consumable materials None B. Removal of A65 emergency locator transmitter 1) Open access door 219. 2) Set "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" switch (5) to "OFF". 3) Disconnect antenna connector (7). 4) Disconnect connector (6) ensuring connection to the aircraft wiring harness. 5) Detach "VELCRO" straps (2). 6) Remove A65 emergency locator transmitter (1). 7) If necessary, remove screws (4) and mounting tray (3). C. Installation of A65 emergency locator transmitter CAUTION : THE ARROW ON A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER MUST BE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE AIRCRAFT FRONT SECTION. 1) If removed, position and secure mounting tray (3) with screws (4). 2) Install A65 emergency locator transmitter (1) onto mounting tray (3). 3) Position flexible antenna (8) along A65 emergency locator transmitter (1) and secure the assembly onto mounting tray (3) with "VELCRO" straps (2). 4) Connect antenna connector (7) and connector (6) ensuring connection to the aircraft wiring harness. 5) Set "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" switch (5) to "AUTO". 6) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 7) Close access door 219.
