A65 EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The emergency locator transmitter provides the means to locate the aircraft in case of emergency. The system consists of :
- the A65 emergency locator transmitter,
I - the E50 antenna,
- the S130 "ELT" remote control switch,
- the "XMIT ALERT" warning light,
- the CB 82 "ELT" circuit breaker.

3. DESCRIPTION A. A65 emergency locator transmitter
The A65 emergency locator transmitter consists of a transmitter and an impact sensor, separately supplied by two battery packs. A flexible antenna is attached to the emergency locator transmitter by a nylon cord, it enables the use of the emergency locator transmitter outside the aircraft.
The front face includes :
- the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" switch,
- the transmission red warning light,
- the "ANT" coaxial connector for connection to the aircraft antenna or to the flexible antenna,
- the connector for connection to the aircraft wiring harness.
The emergency locator transmitter is secured to the baggage compartment floor, on the R.N. side. I B. E50 antenna
The antenna is secured to the rear upper section of the fuselage, ahead of the vertical stabilizer.

C. S130 "ELT" remote control switch
The S130 "ELT" remote control switch is secured to the upholstery panel of the L.H. instrument panel ; it can either be set to "MANUAL" or to "AUTO".
D. "XMIT ALERT" warning light
The "XMIT ALERT" warning light comes on when the A65 emergency locator transmitter is transmitting. It is located on the same upholstery panel as the S130 "ELT" remote control switch.
The warning light is electrically supplied by the "BUS 1" bar and protected by the CB 82 "ELT" circuit breaker.
