The emergency locator transmitter provides the means to locate the aircraft in case of emergency.
The system consists of :
- the A65 emergency locator transmitter,
- the E50 antenna,
- the S130 remote control switch,
- the CB 82 "ELT" circuit breaker,
- a filter (if installed).

3. DESCRIPTION
A. A65 emergency locator transmitter
The A65 emergency locator transmitter consists of a transmitter and a battery.
The front face includes :
- the "ON-OFF-ARM" switch,
- the coaxial connector for connection to the aircraft antenna or to the flexible antenna,
- the connector for connection to the aircraft wiring harness.
The emergency locator transmitter is secured to the baggage compartment floor, on the R.H. side.
B. E50 antenna
The antenna is secured to the rear upper section of the fuselage, ahead of the vertical stabilizer.
C. S130 remote control switch
The S130 remote control switch is secured to the R.H. instrument panel ; it can either be set to "ON" or
to "ARM".

A warning light, located above the switch, comes on when A65 emergency locator transmitter is transmitting.
The warning light is power-supplied by "BUS 1" bar and protected by CB 82 "ELT" circuit breaker. D. Filter (if installed)
The noise filter is inserted in the coaxial line connecting the emergency locator transmitter to its antenna. It is directly connected to the battery.
4. OPERATION
The emergency locator transmitter is power-supplied by a battery.
The emergency locator transmitter can be operated :
- manually, either by setting the "ON-OFF-ARM" transmitter switch to "ON" or by setting S130 remote control
switch to "ON" (the "ON-OFF-ARM" transmitter switch being set to "ARM"),
- automatically, in the event of an impact, when both switches are set to "ARM".
Once triggered, the emergency locator transmitter transmits a modulated signal simultaneously on both emergency frequencies (121.5 MHz and 243 MHz).
When the "ON-OFF-ARM" transmitter switch is set to "OFF", transmission can no longer take place.
