4. OPERATION The emergency locator transmitter is power-supplied by two disposable lithium battery packs. The emergency locator transmitter can be operated : - manually, either by setting the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch to "MAN/RESET" or by setting the S130 "ELT" remote control switch to "MANUAL" (the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch being set to "AUTO"), - automatically, in the event of an impact, when both switches are set to "AUTO". Once triggered, the emergency locator transmitter transmits a modulated signal simultaneously on both emergency frequencies (121.5 MHz and 243 MHz). When the "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" transmitter switch is set to "OFF", transmission can no longer take place. GENERAL The emergency locator transmitter provides the means to locate the aircraft in case of emergency.
