ELECTRIC PUMP
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
WARNING : OBEY THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DESCRIBED IN 28-00-00.
1. REMOVAL OF THE ELECTRIC PUMP (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Drain pan 0.5 US Gal (2 liters)
- Grease (TB 04-903)
- Loctite (TB 09-906)
- Blanking caps
B. Procedure
WARNING : APPLY THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM — REFER TO 28-00-00.
1) Open main switch-breaker.
2) Set the fuel selector to "CLOSED" position.
3) Remove the inspection door 214 - refer to 06-30-00.
4) Put a drain pan beneath pump (12).
5) Drain the fuel system in the fuselage - refer to 12-11-02.
6) Disconnect electrical connector (6).
7) Remove bolt (4), retain washer (3) and remove noise filter (1).
8) Disconnect tube (15) from union (14). Blank off,
9) Disconnect tube (19) from elbow union (16). Blank off.
10) Clear air vent hose (9) from grommet (8).
11) Cut and discard clamp (5) lockwire.
12) Hold pump (12) and loosen clamp (5). Disengage pump (12) from its bracket (20).
13) Check the tubes and hoses for condition. Replace them if necessary.
14) If pump (12) has to be replaced, perform the following operations :
a) Remove unions (14) and (16). Discard 0-rings (13) and (18).
b) Loosen or cut clamp (10).
c) Remove air vent hose (9).
d) Remove union (11) and clean thread.
e) Slightly lubricate with grease (TB 04-903) new 0-rings (13) and (18) and install them on unions (14) and (16).
f) Install unions (14) and (16) on new pump (12) - refer to 20-00-06.

g) Apply Loctite (TB 09-906) to union (11) thread - refer to 20-00-08.
h) Install union (11) on new pump (12) - refer to 20-00-06.
i) Install air vent hose (9) and secure it with a clamp (10).
2. INSTALLATION OF THE ELECTRIC PUMP (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Stainless steel lockwire, dia. 0.025 in (0.6 mm)
- Red paint
B. Procedure
