WARNING : APPLY THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM — REFER TO 28-00-00. 1) Open main switch-breaker. 2) Set the fuel selector to "CLOSED" position. 3) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 4) Remove bolt (11), retain washer (12) and discard nut (13). Remove noise filter (16). 5) Disconnect electrical connector (15). 6) Put a drain pan beneath filter (2). 7) Drain the fuel system in the fuselage - refer to 12-11-02. 8) Disconnect hose (3) from elbow union (31). Blank off. 9) Remove clamp (6) and disconnect air vent hose (7) from elbow union (18). Blank off. 10) Disconnect tube (9) from union (5). Blank off. 11) Remove clamp (8). 12) Hold pump (17) and filter (2) assembly, remove bolts (19) and washers (20), discard nuts (21) and disengage pump (17) and filter (2) assembly. 13) If necessary, separate filter (2) from pump (17) and retain seal (25), nut (27) and union (26). Discard 0-ring (28). 14) If necessary, remove elbow unions (18) and (31). Retain nut (30) and discard 0-ring (29). 15) If necessary, remove union (5) and retain seal (4). NOTE 1 : If bracket (22) is removed, mark its position on the firewall - refer to Detail C. NOTE 2 : For any operation on check valve (10), mark the arrow direction. 16) Clean the fuel filter - refer to 28-20-02. 17) Check the tubes and hoses for condition. Replace them if necessary. 18) Check seals (4) and (25) for condition. Replace them if necessary. ADAD Validity : S / N 1 - 730, "WELDON" pump 28-20-01 Page 401 (DG) SEP 02 2. INSTALLATION OF THE ELECTRIC PUMP (Figure 401) A. Tools and consumable materials - Grease (TB 04-903) - Loctite (TB 09-906) - Stainless steel lockwire, dia. 0.025 in (0.6 mm) - Red paint B. Procedure WARNING : APPLY THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM — REFER TO 28-00-00. NOTE : "WELDON" pump installation on aircraft S/N 1 - 730 corresponds to application of Service Bulletin Nr 47 at latest revision (kits Nr 912800 + Nr 913200). 1) Slightly lubricate new 0-rings (28) and (29) with grease (TB 04-903). 2) Fill up filter (2) with fuel. 3) If a new pump (17) is installed, reverse the air vent outlet - refer to Detail B. To do so, remove cap (32) from port (33) and replace it with elbow union (18) (direct the latter to "IN") and install cap (32) on the pump opposite side. NOTE : Apply Loctite (TB 09-906) to the threads of cap (32) and elbow union (18) - refer to 20-00-08. 4) Install unions (5) and (26) on filter (2) without forgetting to insert seals (4) and (25) - refer to 20-00-06.
