WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF.
IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG.
1) Remove engine cowling 121 - refer to 71-10-01.
2) Check the injectors for play. If necessary, torque - voir 20-00-01.
3) Make sure there is no discoloration at injector location (evidence of leakage).
4) Check the fuel pipes and support clamps.
NOTE : Refer to Service Bulletin TEXTRON LYCOMING No. 342 to the latest issue.
5) Install engine cowling 121 - refer to 71-10-01.

REGULATION
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
Regulation is the part of the system, located between the engine pump and the engine manifold, which supplies the mixture of air and fuel necessary for engine operation.
Regulation includes : - the injection pump.

3. DESCRIPTION
A. Injection pump
The injection pump supplies the mixture of air and fuel to the engine. The injection pump assembly consists of three separate sections :
- the airflow section,
- the regulator section,
- the fuel metering section.
The injection pump assembly is a continuous flow system. This system regulates fuel metering by a pressure drop that is proportional to the airflow through the venturi. It is located under the front part of the engine, fastened under the engine oil sump which acts as inlet distributor collector in its lower part and it is controlled from the cockpit by two controls :
- throttle control,
- mixture control.
The injection pump is fitted with a very close-meshed strainer located on fuel inlet.
4. OPERATION (Figure 2)
A. Idle
Idle setting is necessary to get optimum minimum rotation speed to avoid excessive fuel consumption while keeping proper engine operation.
B. Mixture
Mixture setting is necessary to get a better combustion of the mixture at all power settings and then preserve engine optimum power.
