Validity : S / N 1 - 9999 73 30-00 (DA) Page 4 SEP 02 FLOW TRANSMITTER REMOVAL / INSTALLATION WARNING : OBEY THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DESCRIBED IN 28-00-00. 1. REMOVAL OF FLOW TRANSMITTER (Figures 401 and 401A) A. Tools and consumable materials - Drain pan 0.5 US Gal (2 liters) - Loctite (TB 09-906) - Blanking caps B. Procedure WARNING : APPLY THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM — REFER TO 28-00-00. 1) Open main switch-breaker. 2) Set the fuel selector to "CLOSED" position. 3) Drain the fuel system in the fuselage - refer to 12-11-02. S / N 1 - 730 - refer to Figure 401 4) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 5) Install a drain pan under flow transmitter (11). 6) Disconnect electric connector (10). 7) Disconnect pipe (7) from union (8). Blank off. 8) Disconnect pipe (12) from elbow union (13). Blank off. 9) Remove flow transmitter (11). Retain bolts (9) and washers (4). Discard nuts (3). 10) If flow transmitter (11) has to be replaced, perform the following operations : a) Remove unions (8) and (13) and clean the threads. b) Apply Loctite (TB 09-906) to the thread of unions (8) and (13) - refer to 20-00-08. c) Install unions (8) and (13) on new flow transmitter (11). Make sure elbow union (13) points to the correct direction. S / N 731 - 9999 - refer to Figure 401A 4) Remove inspection door 213 - refer to 06-30-00. 5) Install a drain pan under flow transmitter (4). 6) Disconnect electric connector (5). 7) Disconnect pipe (2) from union (3). 8) Hold flow transmitter (4) and disconnect pipe (7). 9) Remove flow transmitter (4) and blank off. ABAA Validity : OPTION 73-30-02 Page 401 (CA) SEP 02 10) If flow transmitter (4) has to be replaced, perform the following operations : a) Remove unions (3) and (6) and clean the threads. b) Apply Loctite (TB 09-906) to the thread of unions (3) and (6) - refer to 20-00-08. c) Install unions (3) and (6) on new flow transmitter (4). 2. INSTALLATION OF FLOW TRANSMITTER (Figures 401 and 401A) A. Tools and consumable materials - Red paint B. Procedure WARNING : APPLY THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OF THE FUEL SYSTEM — REFER TO 28-00-00. S / N 1 - 730 - refer to Figure 401 1) Secure flow transmitter (11) to support plate (5) with bolts (9), washers (4) and new nuts (3). Do not tighten. 2) Remove the blanking caps, connect pipes (7) and (12) - refer to 20-00-02. Do not tighten. 3) Tighten nuts (3). 4) Tighten pipes (7) and (12) - refer to 20-00-02. 5) Connect electric connector (10).
