PROPELLER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL / INSTALLATION 1. REMOVAL OF THE DE-ICED PROPELLER (Figure 401) A. Tools and consumable materials - Blanking caps B. Procedure WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF. IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG. 1) Remove the key from the magneto selector. 2) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01. 3) Remove screws (4), washers (3), equipped covers (20) and spinner (21). 4) Remove nuts (18), clamps (17) and bolts (15). Discard nuts (18). 5) Cut off lockwire and remove propeller sprayers (9). 6) Cut off lockwire, unscrew bolts (8) equipped with nuts (7) and remove propeller (5). 7) Discard 0-ring (12) and blank off. 8) Retain engine side bulkhead (10). 9) If necessary, cut off lockwire and remove screws (1), washers (2) and cylinder side bulkhead (6). 10) If necessary, remove nuts (14), washers (13), bolts (19) and brackets (16). Discard nuts (14). 2. INSTALLATION OF THE PROPELLER (Figure 401) A. Tools and consumable materials - Torque wrench 0 - 885 lbf.in (0 - 100 N.m) - Red paint - Stainless steel lockwire, dia. 0.032 in (0.8 mm) B. Procedure 1) Check spinner (21), cylinder side bulkhead (6) and engine side bulkhead (10) for cracks and distortions. 2) Check groover rubber strips for condition and separation. 3) Check bolts (8) condition for absence of damage or corrosion. Replace them if necessary. 4) If removed, equip the propeller with brackets (16) using bolts (19), washers (13) and new nuts (14). Torque - refer to 20-00-01. 5) Mark nut position with a red paint line. 6) If removed, position and attach cylinder side bulkhead (6) with screws (1) and washers (2). Lockwire. 7) Remove the blanking caps and install a new 0-ring (12). ACAC Validity : S / N 1 - 1183, Pre-Kit OPT10 918600 61 10 00Page 401 (CA) SEP 04 8) Position engine side bulkhead (10) onto the propeller and take propeller sprayers (9) position into account. 9) Position propeller (5) and align the "0" of the propeller with the "0" of brush ring (11). 10) Screw bolts (8) equipped with nuts (7). 11) Torque bolts (8) according to "Specific cases" tightening procedure - refer to 20-00-01. 12) Lockwire. 13) Mark nut position with a red paint line. 14) Install propeller sprayers (9). Lockwire tube nuts. 15) Attach propeller sprayers (9) on bracket (16) with clamps (17), bolts (15) and new nuts (18). 16) Position and attach spinner (21) and equipped covers (20) with screws (4) and washers (3).
