9) Connect a passenger oxygen mask to an oxygen connecting plug to depressurize the system.
10) Perform the maintenance operation.
11) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
12) Perform a leak test of the oxygen system - see Page 501.
13) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.
14) Disconnect the grounding cable.
3. OXYGEN SYSTEM PURGING

B. Procedure WARNING
CAUTION
CAUTION OBSERVE ALL THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DESCRIBED IN PARAGRAPH 1. OXYGEN SYSTEM SERVICING MUST BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE APPLIED WHEN :
- THE OXYGEN CYLINDER PRESSURE IS LESS THAN 50 PSI (3.5 BARS),
- A LINE HAS BEEN LEFT DISCONNECTED WITHOUT A BLANKING CAP,
- A SYSTEM COMPONENT HAS BEEN REMOVED OR REPLACED,
- THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN CONTAMINATED (PRESENCE OF ANY OFFENSIVE ODOR IN THE MASKS).
1) Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open.
2) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.

3) Open access door 219.
4) Make sure the area surrounding the charging valve is clean.
5) Remove the charging valve cap.
6) Make sure the supply hose of the oxygen charging cart is clean and connect it to the charging valve.
7) Connect passenger oxygen masks to oxygen connecting plugs.
8) Set cabin oxygen control lever to "ON".
9) Set the flow regulator of the charging cart to 50 psi (3.5 bars) and allow the system to purge for one hour.
10) If the odor still lingers, continue purging the system for one or several hours.
11) If the odor still remains after the second purge, replace the oxygen cylinder - see Page 401.
12) Set cabin oxygen control lever to "OFF".
13) Charge the oxygen cylinder — refer to 12-16-00.
14) Perform an operational test of the oxygen system - see Page 501.
15) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.
