2. INSTALLATION OF AIR INTAKE BOX (Figure 401) A. Tools and consumable materials - Lubricant (TB 06-903) - Stainless steel lockwire, dia. 0.024 in (0.6 mm) - Grease (TB 04-004A) B. Procedure 1) Check air intake box (9) and filter assy (14) for shock marks, cracks and corrosion. 2) Operate the shutter and check for correct operation. Check the seal for correct condition. AEAC Validity : With "Alternate Air" control 71-60-00Page 401 (FA) J UN 02 3) Check air filter (15) for condition and cleanliness, replace it if necessary. 4) Check gasket (1) for condition, replace it if necessary. 5) Lubricate the shutter seal and hinge pin - refer to 12-21-01. CAUTION : IN CASE OF SELF-LOCKING BOLTS (8) (POLYAMIDE DEPOSIT ON THE THREADS), INSTALL NEW BOLTS EVERY 5 AIR INTAKE BOX REINSTALLATIONS OR IF THE BOLTS CAN BE FULLY SCREWED BY HAND. 6) Remove the blanking cap, position gasket (1), air intake box (9), reinforcement plate (21) (if installed) on the injection pump. Install bolts (8) and washers (7) (if necessary). NOTE : If reinforcement plate (21) is installed, there are no washers (7). NOTE : Position reinforcement plate (21) with the 45° chamfer towards the top of the box - see Detail A. With lockwired bolts (8) 7) Lockwire bolts (8). All 8) Align strut (2) with the box, then install bolt (3) equipped with washer (4), washer (5) and new nut (6). 9) Secure filter assy (14) to the box using bolts (13), washers (12) and (11) and new nuts (10). 10) Install air filter (15) and grid (17). Secure with washers (19) and screws (18). NOTE : Make sure grid (17) touches rapid nuts (16) to prevent box wear. 11) Connect the Alternate Air control - refer to 76-10-05. 12) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris. 13) Install the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
