5) Lubricate the shutter seal and hinge pin - refer to 12-21-01.
CAUTION : IN CASE OF SELF-LOCKING BOLTS (8) (POLYAMIDE DEPOSIT ON THE THREADS), INSTALL NEW BOLTS EVERY 5 AIR INTAKE BOX REINSTALLATIONS OR IF THE BOLTS CAN BE FULLY SCREWED BY HAND.
6) Remove the blanking cap, position gasket (1) and air intake box (9) on the injection pump. Install bolts (8) and washers (7).
With lockwired bolts (8)
7) Lockwire bolts (8).
All
8) Align strut (2) with the box, then install bolt (3) equipped with washer (4), washer (5) and new nut (6).
9) Secure filter assy (14) to the box using bolts (13), washers (12) and (11) and new nuts (10).
10) Install air filter (15) and grid (17). Secure with washers (19) and screws (18).
NOTE : Make sure grid (17) touches rapid nuts (16) to prevent box wear.
11) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
12) Install the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.

AIR INLET
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. REMOVAL OF AIR INTAKE BOX (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Blanking caps
B. Procedure
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE, EXHAUST PIPE AND MANIFOLDS ARE COLD. IF NOT, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID SEVERE BURNS.
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF.
IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG.
1) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
2) Disconnect the Alternate Air control and clear it from the cable grip and the sheath grip - refer to 76-10-05.
3) Remove screws (18), washers (19), grid (17) and air filter (15).
With additional air filter. Pre-SB 10-118-71
4) Remove and discard additional air filter (20).
All
5) Remove and discard nuts (10). Remove washers (11) and (12), bolts (13) and filter assy (14).
6) Remove and discard nut (6). Remove washers (4) and (5) and bolt (3).
With lockwired bolts (8)
7) Cut and discard the lockwire.
All
8) Hold air intake box (9). Remove bolts (8), washers (7) or reinforcement plate (21) (depending on assembly), air intake box (9) and gasket (1). Blank off.
