ENGINE BULKHEADS
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. REMOVAL OF ENGINE BULKHEADS (Figures 401 and 401A)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Blanking caps
B. Procedure
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE, EXHAUST PIPE AND MANIFOLDS ARE COLD. IF NOT, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID SEVERE BURNS.
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF.
IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG.
1) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
2) Remove the oil cooler - refer to 79-20-01. With propeller deicing
3) Cut the lockwire and disconnect propeller deicing tube (46) and propeller deicing hose/tube (48) from union (49) secured to L.H. rear bulkhead (47). Blank off.
4) If necessary, remove union (49), discard the lockwasher.

5) Disconnect the power plant upper ignition harnesses - refer to 74-20-01.
6) Remove the ignition harness holding clamps secured to the bulkheads and to the power plant upper section.
7) Remove and discard nuts (22), remove washers (23), bolts (25) and grommets (24).
CAUTION : BE CAREFUL NOT TO PEEL THE PROTECTIVE SLEEVE OF THE IGNITION HARNESSES.

8) Remove the ignition harnesses from R.H. side bulkhead (27) and L.H. side bulkhead (50).
S / N 1783 - 9999
8) Remove the ignition harnesses from R.H. rear bulkhead (9) and L.H. rear bulkhead (47).
S / N 1 - 9999
9) Remove screw (33), lockwasher (34) and washer (35). Discard lockwasher (34).
10) Remove clamps (15) and (56) securing the rear bulkheads to the push rod shrouds.
11) Loosen the clamp and disconnect alternator cooling hose (31). Blank off.
12) Disconnect the propeller governor control - refer to 61-20-02.

13) Loosen the clamp and disconnect engine pump cooling hose (45). Blank off.
14) Disconnect flowmeter air intake hose (44). Discard the clamp and blank off.
15) Disconnect flow divider tube (41) and flow divider hose (43) on each side of the bulkhead. Blank off.
