B. Procedure
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE, EXHAUST PIPE AND MANIFOLDS ARE COLD. IF NOT, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID SEVERE BURNS.
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF.
IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG.
1) Check control (8), grommet (21) and clamps (14) and (18) for condition. Replace them if necessary.
2) Lubricate clevis pins (4) and (30) with grease (TB 04-004A).
3) Engage control (8) into grommet (21) up to pedestal bulkhead (11). Install nut (13) and a new lockwasher (12) on control (8).
4) Engage control (8) into pedestal bulkhead (11), install a new lockwasher (10) and nut (9) on control (8), then tighten nuts (9) and (13).
5) Fully screw jam nut (7) on control (8).
6) Screw fork end (3) on control (8) until the control threaded rod is flush with the inside of the fork end -refer to Detail D.
7) Tighten jam nut (7).
8) Attach fork end (3) onto control lever (2) with clevis pin (4), washer (5) and a new cotter pin (6).
9) Lubricate control (8) - refer to 12-21-02.
10) Install the central control pedestal - refer to 25-14-00.
11) Route control (8) as marked during removal.
12) Make sure nut (23) is installed and engage control (8) into support (24).
13) Install nut (25). Do not lock nuts (23) and (25).
14) Fully screw jam nut (26) and swivel rod end (28) on control (8). Do not lock them.
15) Set control lever (2) to rear stop and insert a shim (1) of 0.078 in (2 mm) approx. between control lever (2) and stop.
16) Position lever (34) to rear stop.

17) Position swivel rod end (28) onto lever (34). If necessary, actuate nuts (23) and (25) and/or unscrew swivel rod end (28) until clevis pin (30), washer (29), lever (34), swivel rod end (28) and washer (31) fit together freely.
18) Make sure control (8) thread is visible through inspection hole (27).
19) Install nut (32) and a new cotter pin (33).
20) Hold swivel rod end (28) and tighten jam nut (26).
21) Remove shim (1).
CAUTION : LEVER (34) MUST REACH MECHANICAL STOP ON THE INJECTION PUMP BEFORE CONTROL LEVER (2) REACHES MECHANICAL STOP ON THE CONTROL PEDESTAL.
22) Operate control lever (2) twice or three times and make sure that lever (34) is correctly controlled, that it reaches front and rear stops before control lever (2) reaches mechanical stop on the control pedestal and that all the control levers are aligned in front and rear stops.
