Tools and consumable materials - Sealant (TB 09-904) - Oil (TB 03-900) - Grease (TB 04-004A) - Stainless steel lockwire, dia. 0.032 in (0.8 mm) - Tie-wraps - Protection tape (TB 05-938) B. Procedure WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE, EXHAUST PIPE AND MANIFOLDS ARE COLD. IF NOT, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID SEVERE BURNS. WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF. IF AIRCRAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH DISCONNECT PLUG ON FIREWALL, DISCONNECT "MAGNETO DISCONNECT" PLUG AND CONNECT IT TO "GROUND MAGNETO FOR SERVICING" PLUG. 1) Check control (29), grommet (15) and clamps (19) and (23) for condition. Replace them if necessary. 2) Lubricate clevis pins (7) and (32) with grease (TB 04-004A). 3) Make sure electrical operation of microswitch (36) and, if installed, microswitch (37) are correct. Replace them if necessary. 4) Make sure microswitch (36) triggers when control lever (35) is between 0.4 in (10 mm) and 0.6 in (15 mm) from rear stop. If microswitch (36) has to be adjusted, twist flap (40). 5) Engage control (29) into grommet (15) up to pedestal bulkhead (26). Install nut (24) and a new lockwasher (25) on control (29). 6) Engage control (29) into pedestal bulkhead (26), install a new lockwasher (27) and nut (28) on control (29), then tighten nuts (24) and (28). 7) Fully screw jam nut (30) on control (29). 8) Screw fork end (31) on control (29) until the control threaded rod is flush with the inside of the fork end -refer to Detail D. 9) Tighten jam nut (30). 10) Attach fork end (31) onto control lever (35) with clevis pin (32), washer (33) and a new cotter pin (34). 11) Lubricate control (29) - refer to 12-21-02. 12) Install the central control pedestal - refer to 25-14-00. 13) Route control (29) as marked during removal. 14) Make sure nut (14) is installed and engage control (29) into support (13). 15) Install nut (12). Do not lock nuts (12) and (14). 16) Fully screw jam nut (5) and swivel rod end (4) on control (29). Do not lock them.
