REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
NOTE : This procedure is applicable to L.H. and R.H. installations. Information specific to R.H. installation are given in square brackets.
1. REMOVAL OF ONE FLAP (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Padded supports
B. Procedure
1) Close main switch-breaker.
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THE FLAP AREA IS CLEAR.
2) Set the flaps to intermediate position.
3) Open main switch-breaker.
4) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.

DO NOT OPERATE
MAINTENANCE WORK IN PROGRESS
5) Remove cotter pin (5), nut (4) and washer (3). Discard cotter pin (5).
6) Remove bolt (1) and disengage input rod (6) from bellcrank (2).
7) Hold the flap and remove cotter pins (7), nuts (8), washers (9) and bolts (10). Discard cotter pins (7).
8) Disengage the flap and place it on two padded supports.
2. INSTALLATION OF ONE FLAP (Figure 401)
A. Tools and consumable materials
None
B. Procedure
1) Lubricate hinges and rod end - refer to 12-21-04.
2) Position the flap and secure it to the arm assemblies with bolts (10), washers (9) and nuts (8).
3) Install new cotter pins (7).
4) Secure the input rod (6) to bellcrank (2) with bolt (1), washer (3) and nut (4). Install a new cotter pin (5).
5) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.

6) Close main switch-breaker.
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THE FLAP AREA IS CLEAR.
7) Retract the flaps and check travels - refer to 27-50-00.
8) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.
9) Perform a test flight - refer to 05-30-00.

AILERONS
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The metal structure ailerons allow aircraft maneuver around the roll axis. They are actuated by the pilot using a control wheel and an aileron control linkage composed of rods and bellcranks.
