REMOVAL OF THE ELECTROMECHANICAL VACUUM PUMP (Figures 401 and 401A) A. Tools and consumable materials - Blanking caps and plugs B. Procedure 1) Remove the cowling under hull 218. 2) Open "AUX SUCT" circuit breaker on the circuit breaker panel. 3) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation. WARNING DO NOT OPERATE MAINTENANCE WORK IN PROGRESS 4) Loosen clamp (9) and disconnect hose (10). Blank off. 5) Mark the wires and disconnect the electrical power supply. Retain filter (7). 6) Remove bolt (11) and washer (12). 7) Remove bolts (3), washers (2) and electromechanical pump (4). Retain spacers (16). 8) If electromechanical vacuum pump (4) is to be replaced, perform the following operations : a) Mark the orientation of the pump with respect to support (5) and the orientation of unions (8) and (14) with respect to the pump. b) Loosen clamps (6) and remove support (5). c) Remove unions (8) and (14). Blank off. d) Mark its position and then remove bonding strap (13). Reinstall its attaching hardware on the pump body. 2. INSTALLATION OF THE ELECTROMECHANICAL VACUUM PUMP (Figures 401 and 401A) A. Tools and consumable materials - Varnish (TB 07-906) - Lubricant (TB 06-903C) B. Procedure 1) If electromechanical vacuum pump (4) has been replaced, perform the following operations : a) Install bonding strap (13) at the location marked during removal - refer to 20-00-12. b) Clean and then spray the threads of unions (8) and (14) with lubricant (TB 06-903C). c) Install unions (8) and (14) as marked during removal. d) Secure support (5) to the pump with clamps (6). Observe the orientation marked during removal. 2) Insert bolts (3) and washers (2) into vibration isolators (15).
