However, many training organisations can arrange to vary circuits from time to time. Remember: a well-trained pilot is a safe pilot.
Aerobatics
Training in aerobatics – the technical word for aerial acrobatics – increases a pilot’s competence and confidence. Pilots do this to improve their flying skills and, to check the accuracy of their
manoeuvres, they need line features such as straight railways or roads, which restricts the choice of places over which they can practise. Also, much of the airspace is reserved for the use of
commercial air transport aircraft – airliners in which you may fly – so the space available for aerobatic training and practice is very limited.
Flying Considerately
The General Aviation Awareness Council (GAAC) produces several guidance leaflets, among which is ‘More Considerate Flying’. In this, pilots are advised to be environmentally conscious and not to cause unnecessary disturbance. More than 100 000 copies of an earlier version were distributed and copies of the new edition are available on the website

Is General Aviation important?
General Aviation (GA) covers a broad spectrum of activity. For some core facts, read on:
Scale
Mention aviation to most people and their minds will turn immediately to the airline industry – because they see it, hear it, and probably use it – and then, depending on where they live, they may think about military aviation.
