4. OPERATION Remove the safety pin. Without turning the fire extinguisher upside down, depress the discharge lever. The pressure exerted on the discharge lever releases the pressurized nitrogen which drives the HALON charge through the nozzle. To stop the HALON discharge, release the discharge lever.
