DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The portable fire extinguisher is charged with sodium bicarbonate. It enables fire fighting :
- in flight, in the accessible areas of the cabin,
- on the ground, in all accessible areas of the aircraft.
The portable fire extinguisher is ready for use, it operates in one stroke, without percussion or preliminary preparation.
2. LOCATION (Figure 1)

3. DESCRIPTION
A. Fire extinguisher
The fire extinguisher consists of :
- a red plasticized aluminium cylinder,
- a valve system with a discharge lever allowing operation and carrying,
- a pressure gage.
It is charged with sodium bicarbonate pressurized at 100 psi (6.9 bars).
The total weight of the fire extinguisher and the weight of the load are indicated on the fire extinguisher body. It is installed on the cabin floor, at the front of the pilot seat.
4. OPERATION
Without turning the fire extinguisher upside down, pull the safety lever up, hold it in this position and depress the discharge lever at the same time. The pressure exerted on the discharge lever releases the pressurized powder charge through the nozzle. To stop the powder discharge, release the discharge lever.

The portable fire extinguisher is ready for use, it operates in one stroke, without percussion or preliminary preparation.

3. DESCRIPTION
A. Fire extinguisher
The fire extinguisher consists of :
- a red lacquered aluminium cylinder,
- a valve system with a discharge lever allowing operation and carrying. The discharge lever is fitted with a safety pin,
- a pressure gage.
It is charged with HALON with nitrogen charge pressurized at 159 psi (11 bars) used as propulsive gas. The total weight of the fire extinguisher and the weight of the load are indicated on the fire extinguisher body. It is installed on the cabin floor, at the front of the pilot seat.
