Break-in and operation The engine has undergone a break-in at the factory and is ready for the full range of use. It is, however, recommended that cruising flights be accomplished at 65 to 72 % until a total of 50 hours has accumulated or oil consumption has stabilized. The airplane is delivered from the factory with corrosion preventive engine oil. If, during the first 50 hours oil must be added, use only aviation grade straight mineral oil in compliance with Specification MIL-L-6082. Use dispersant oil in compliance with Specification MIL-L-22851C only after the first 50 hours.
